What about the Texaco/Chevron site?

Representatives of the EPA will be in Fillmore on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd to conduct interviews about the site.

Specifically they would like to "...better understand what is important about this site from the city's perspective and to learn what your community wants or needs from EPA."

This is a 100 acre site (previously an oil refinery and pipeline transfer station) that the EPA has been cleaning up and monitoring for several years. It is just to the east of Pole Creek and north of 126. You can learn more about the site from the EPA's website.

At some point, hopefully in the near future, the site will be available for some type of redevelopment. It will likely be limited to industrial, passive park or open space.

If you would like to provide input into these interviews or join me in participating, please contact me at 524-7313 or email: gaylewashburn@sbcglobal.net

Debby - I do not know what happened to Fillmore Politics and Beyond.

As far as the EPA, please review all of the information on their website concerning the PCPL site. We have an opportunity to have a positive outcome from the visit.

By the way, the visit has been changed to September 11th.
