Hunting Season...for decent food
We're on our way to Denver. The aspens and cottonwoods in western Colorado are spectacular right now.
We enjoy stopping in some of the small towns and this morning we pulled off in Silt, Colorado for some breakfast.
Unfortunately, fast food chains have taken over Silt and the local cafes have all disappeared and been displaced by Taco Bell, KFC, McDonalds, Subway, etc.
We headed down the road to New Castle and happily found the New Castle Diner is still there and just as great as we had remembered.
I hope our local Mama Sue's, Margaret's and Yanni's can compete with the chains and survive.
It's hunting season and the roads are filled with hunters pulling trailers. But - I haven't seen one horse trailer - they are all loaded with camouflage quads.
Our next stop is Vail pass to spread Jo Ann's ashes...

Gayle,
I can only hope that when my time comes that I will have someone like you in the wings...
Tom, thanks so much for the kind words. Jo Ann was like a big sister to me and I was grateful to have her in my life.
gayle

Gayle
Are you going to run again for Council?
anonymous, I guess there are so many blogs because people want a forum to express themselves or write. There are blogs everywhere and for every subject.
red, The election is a year away. I haven't decided yet if I will run or not.
why are you deleting my comments?
Claire has done the same to me too.
Fillmore Farmer,The answer to your question is obvious, you either grow water filters for water softeners or you are a BS Farmer in search of a place to spew your BS. either way one thing is certin...you have a growing number of people that are not amused with your nonsense.
fillmore farmer: If your comments are deleted it would be because they are inappropriate.
