What would it take?
It’s not easy listening to an opposing viewpoint, especially when the subject is politics or religion.
The discussion for one reason or another unfortunately turns emotional and common courtesy takes a holiday.
There are several topics facing Fillmore that seem to be powder kegs in an emotional sense.
Has Fillmore always felt so divided? What would it take to get both sides to sit down, air their differences and work together?
Disclaimer:
I am by no means saying that everyone has to agree, that would boring. I’m hopeful that your answers can be constructive and not hateful. Offering to tie persons to the train tracks is not considered constructive.

Gayle, please, this blog and a lot of your groups comments, statements, and mistruths have been at the root cause of the divide. For example the sewer plant, first it was vertreat, than perc and when your group are shown FACTS based on your information you either ignor it, not comment on it, and heaven forbid a question is asked, in that event you talk only of grammer, syntax, spelling and never answer the question. So in answer to your question about what it would take to bring both sides together, I would have to say that you need to pull your head out of the sand and actually use commen sense and critical thinking to listen to both sides and make intellegent decisions and comments that are not based on bias, interpretation, salespitches, and the like, but rather on the facts and information presented by experts and people who have taken the time to do the research instead of listening to salespitches. Once you have accomplished this, that I would suggest that you STOP bashing those that have already taken the time to do the research and have a good understanding of the "BIG PICTURE", than maybe you might get unity.
Clarification:
It was Tom who posted this question not Gayle.
Tom it would take a miracle! 1st thing you have to write your case down on paper. Its hard to interrupt a letter with an emotional outburst(if you can...you shouldn't be the one negotiating)Each side should use a skilled Mediator. If you are going to try to make your case on a Blog, you cannot let Blog Trolls participate (they CAN interrupt a letter)!
anonymous: First, I have not bashed anyone. You are the only one around here that is bashing.
Second, I probably have the "big picture" more than most people, and in particular yourself.
My expertise lies in the fact that I have operated a wastewater treatment plant for Texaco.
I have also acted as construction supervisor on building a wastewater treatment plant.
As an engineering assistant and technician, I have also screened different technologies and performed fiscal analysis and ROI studies for designing plants. So, I'd say I'm more of an expert than you are.
Gayle, Amen!!!
You go Girl.
Tom,I know you and Gayle are Computer whiz(es) When someone signs up on a google account and gets a user name and password, will the blog owner know your identity? ie you,Rene,Claire???
Beenie:
Well, if you were to create a hotmail or gmail account under a false name, no.
So thats a yes?
The answer is no.
The very most a blog owner or anyone else would see would be a username and possibly an email address. You can go to hotmail.com and setup ILoveFillmore@hotmail.com and choose any name to go along with it. Nobody will ever know your real details. When you create a google account once again you do not have to enter your correct information. You can create a username BeenieBoy93015.
**Just remember if you are flagged as a trouble maker and banned then you have to go through the whole process again.
Dear Mr.Fennell;
Being couteous is a priceless virtue, I agree with you. However, causing tenacious, unnecessary havoc between commissioners is not acceptable. Thankyou for your feedback...
God Bless,
Claire Kennedy
