PAC Information...
The Friends of Fillmore and Fillmore Citizens for Responsible Growth are the PAC's that were formed to elect some of our current Council members.
Those very nice, slick brochures you saw in the last election were paid for by the Friends of Fillmore and produced by Adler Public Affairs. No doubt there will be more to come.
Both of the PAC's addresses are based in Mill Valley and there are really no individuals from Fillmore contributing.
I apologize if they are difficult to read.
On this sheet, Griffin Industries is a major contributor - $6,000!

The candidates they were supporting...

Great Information....
To think these funds are from "OUT" of our Town.
People who do not live here in Fillmore. Yet have a significant interest in our small town City Council Election. Their money has controlled some of "OUR" Elections.
The last two Elections Smedley, Villegas,Conaway,Dressler & Parsons were all supported by that PAC.
Four of them sit on our Council presently, for the last two years together.
A Majority Vote. Know wonder Fillmore is experiencing a "Build-Out".

marco ,
let me quess, is the Friends of Fillmore not a special interest? According to Roger Campbell?
These posting are from 2002 election.
Not defending, or attacking, the use of PAC. Just pointing out the date of the documents.
and Im pointing out history repeats its self! Get your head out of the sand! Face it , Fillmore politics is bought out by SPECIAL INTERESTS CALLED "FRIENDS OF FILLMORE PAC".
1. GRIFFIN INDUSTRIES
2. FIRST AMERICAN TITLE
just to name a few
correction : 2004 evidence of the FRIENDS OF FILLMORE PAC IS AT
WALKER4FILLMORE.COM
PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING!!!!
anonymous: Yes, the report I have is from 2002. Just pointing out how we got where we are.
We got where we are because someone built a house and we choose to rent or buy it at market value. I can't blame a business, which employees people and provides a service that communities support from trying to protect their interests. The growth rate of Fillmore is consistent with Ventura County according to newspaper articles.
If people want to be honest they'll see a line in the sand and they will be standing on one side of it based upon their beliefs and knowledge. To argue that one side is right or wrong is childish and demeaning to the conversation.

well, well did't the above mentioned names promise jobs, lite industry? After all i was told jobs in Fillmore will be benefical to our economy. Where are the jobs? Lite indrustry? The present city council aproves salries.ROY wore many hats took over many duties.I will add he earned alot of money.
Roy worked hard and deserved his pay. Now we have Tom,Tom earns $190,000 but needs 4 paid assistants to do Roys job! Can't the city just pay him for WHAT he knows? One more...$75,000 for a 23 year old for some disaster/Risk position not bad for a kid that the only risk he took working for the city, was making popcorn, then turn on the film projector at the theater.Don't get me wrong Pat is a wonderful young man just overpaid like Tom.But wait, real jobs where are they as promised?
Oh wait hire Roy back(he's smart)As long as fillmore tolerates PAC groups
with deep pockets interfering with our very small town politics (we do have prime land go figure) cITY HALL GETS PAID FROM THESE PACS..But wait it all started ,when devolopers wanted to bulid someone a house! Now if people want to be HONEST you could draw a line in the sand and say,Childish or Corrupt?
Wendy, thank you for pointing out how you can review the funding of the 2004 campaign on my web site. I will be doing the same again this year. Tomorrow is the deadline for filing to-date reports. In the past the Friends of Fillmore have been late in getting theirs in. They seem to be able to pay the $10 day fine.
PAC's don't pay salaries, taxes do.
Taxes come from businesses and property.
What is your position on generating new tax money to help our town?

Polo,
I heard that the current city council has been working tirelessly for years to make the southwest industrial park a reality. I would consider that a pretty big step towards bringing new jobs and light industry to Fillmore.
Polo, I'd also like to mention that I noticed how you like to point fingers and demoralize a 23 year old city employee. You went a step beyond childish when you had the nerve to demean this person by saying a first name "Pat"? Your message seems to preach of a corrupt city hall yet your words mimic a person who acts on suspicious motives. Polo get a life, seriously man.
Polo, sounds like Marco doesn't like the truth with "FACTS".
If he doesn’t like a response, he tends to point fingers.
You are correct!!!
What kind of experience does a 23yr old have???
He has no background what so ever.
I sure would love to see his "RESUME" posted.
There is nothing that you wrote that demoralized him.
I do hope someone up in the Heavens watch over OUR City during the next
Disaster.
Oh my!! This winter and it’s Rains, scary.....
Apparently half the staff in City Hall gets their jobs through whom (relatives) they know there.
We call that Nepotism. That is fact as well.
So many Employees are related. I even know one person presently working there whom a relative got the job for that person. The City did not even place an add in the paper. This job was just recently filled.
I challenge anyone out there with my response.
Before anyone does challenge me, you better have “FACTS!
I do, and I have experience as well. I was turned down because I am “OVER QUALIFIED”.
The City does not like anyone working for them whom are more Intelligent than the Supervisors.
tag teamed by the best!1st i never demeand or demoralize anyone. He is a great person as I said. All I said , to me he's over paid. Now employees, staff, elected officials, are fair game for criticisim.I'm sorry you feel he is too young to accept the RISKS.As far as far as industrial park Remember north fillmore industrial park? Business properity owners were forced to pay $3million for a drain. Then at one point made it almost impossible to make improvements. why?changed their minds, had other plans ror the land.Iagree with you. that was a lot of work.Do you recall the council(person)that turned away 250 clean manufacturing jobs?Santa Paula thanked us.Look, oil, citrus, manufacturing jobs are gone(except Ameron)? If we have to reinvent ourselves... lets not make it so hard(if not impossible)for any busines.Lets face it they would like to invest money and hire our people! If you want an answer to your question, start a busines you will see the process 1'st hand.Sorry if i seem bitter to you,it just seems you only have critical questions with 0(ZERO)answers.
At least you're not over qualified in English and grammar. That is a FACT.
Perhaps you're better with money, but let's just leave that alone.
Annonymous..
I certainly was not getting personal.
I was expressing my experience and concerns.
Gayle...
Have you noticed that when there are Factual Comments, that Anonymous and Marco insult our comments.
Seems when they do not have a significant response, they end up insulting and slandering the people whom they can not respond properly to.
A bit immature would you say?
anonymous,i wanted to defend you on your words with Grace. But then I realized, with every i dotted &t crossed. words, paragraphs, sentances formed corectly.Grace's college days consisted of being on the Deans list, not once...but every year consistantly!! so sorry she talks over your head!mabey a dictionary will bring your IQ up from where it has stalled. Then PERHAPS you could contibute like an adult.
Mike,
next time let spell check do the thinking.
ano,i don't need to...Looks like I got u 2 think.

thankx u 2.
Let’s get back on TRACK...
Gayle...
Yesterday Oct.5th was the first deadline to file Form 460 (Campaign Statements) for this coming Election.
I wonder if the Friends of Fillmore & Fillmore Citizens for Responsible Growth filed on time.
Did you get the PAC’s Papers???
Please post them.
Whom did they get their monies from?
Whom of the City Council Candidates are they funding?
I wonder and it will show once we get their Forms, if these PAC’s fund Smedley, Hernandez and McCall campaigns.
The citizens of Fillmore will see if the up coming Election is being run by “OUT OF TOWNERS”, AGAIN!
In behalf of all the DEVELOPERS.
Mike...
Thanks for the nice write-up. I appreciate the compliment.
I do hope the name-calling and slander stops now.
marco: polo: Ha, ha, ha...sorry but this just tickles me. You are all so creative. I do appreciate all of your comments.
gracy: The 460 PAC reports should have been filed by now. I haven't checked on them yet. I've heard that they are sometimes turned in late. We'll see next week.
Gayle...
Did the Friends of Fillmore & Fillmore Citizens for Responsible Growth file their Campaign Statements, Form 460?
It was Due October 5, 2006.
Let us see who is supporting these PAC's and who are these PAC's supporting here in Fillmore.
Ya know experence is not everything, how about common sense, intellegence, or ambition. I work with a lot of "experienced" people and they are worse than some of the newbie's. lets look at experience for a moment, Jack Welch an engineer, never ran a company and yet made GE a 500 billion dollar company and saved it from bankruptcy, Steve Jobst Apple computers ever hear of them, not bad for an inexperienced kid making computers in his garage, The same with the founder of Dell, The infamous my space founder, google, the founder of Broadcom, and lets not forget about Bill gates, he dropped out of college and started the largest software company in the world. It is not expereince that matters it is drive, determination, desire, vision, common sense, critical thinking, etc... Let us also not forget that Gayle has no more or less experience Diane, Lori, or Linda. Patti, she had to start somewere and only got expereince once elected to city council. So lets pull our heads out of the sand and realize we all at one time were inexperienced. Afterall, our first born child was raised by an inexerienced parent.
