North Fillmore Neighborhood Council Debate
The North Fillmore Neighborhood Council will be hosting a candidate debate on October 25th at 7:00 pm at the Lemon Way storefront.
In the interim, if you have candidate questions please post them here and we will answer them. I hope you have been reading the weekly Fillmore Gazette questions and answers.

Well I could not make it. Sure would like to know what happened.Please...Just the Facts!
anonymous: I will be posting some comments about the debate as soon as I get time...sorry for the delay.
In the meantime everyone seems to be having some good conversations without me...
The North Fillmore Neighborhood Council debate on Wednesday was very well done. All seats were filled and the moderator, Mr. Doug Tucker, did an excellent job.
I want to express appreciation for the NFNC, Doug Tucker, all the candidates for participating, and Brian Sipes of Loans by Trinka for providing refreshments.
The questions were thoughful and timely as were the replies. There were fireworks...just kidding...someone set off a firecracker behind the building.
I'll post the questions with my answers later. If the other candidates would like their answers posted, email them to me at gaylewashburn@sbcglobal.net
Gayle that is too funny, you actually did a plug for Brian, "and Brian Sipes of Loans by Trinka for providing refreshments." after all this talk over developers and their contributions and all the contraversy surrounding businesses and developers, you actually plugged him? Wow, that is too funny
Gayle,
I was going to comment on several of your answers to the North Fillmore forum questions but after reading all of your responses, I had second thoughts. I realized you have been influenced by too many of the pro-walker conspiracy theorists.
You may have the potential to be a good council candidate, but you have a long way to go. Here are a couple of ideas you should think about well in advance of your next run at the council:
Check with the Finance Director about “audits” – that’s what the city goes through to assure the public their money is going where it should.
Check with the Police Chief – I think you will find they have more than sufficient “data”. They know all that stuff you talk about, what they are missing is advance notice from the gang bangers. Got any idea on how to get that?
How do you think a book store will go over in a town with the lowest education level in the county? Or were you thinking of comic books?
Finally: the sewer plant. Do you realize there are different watersheds and different standards? Umm… ought to look into that.

I'm glad that my comments amuse you. We need that around here.
Yes, I would have thanked whoever brought the refreshments. I felt a little guilty that I didn't express my gratitude to all at the time so I had to do it here.
