League of Women Voters debate cancelled...

I just received this email that the event has been cancelled.

"Wanted everyone to know the forum for tonight has been cancelled. Ms. Kelley was unable to do what she needed to do and so it is off. Ken is calling 2 of the candidates and I offered to call Linda and Gayle. Please pass this on to others I may have missed
Patti"

We received our absentee ballots today. Since there is no more debates , we will cast our votes for ARNOLD for gov. and Walker and Washburn for city council. We have 5 voters in our household also.

It seems that Diane McCall is politically illiterate when it comes to guilty by association. Diane believes that she has no ties or connections to the Friends of Fillmore pac. Diane please look over the records for the 2004 election and you will see clearly that Mr. Campbell was quite active and mobile with this pac. Need I say anymore? Guilty by association.

No name calling please. This blog is set up for the purpose to debate issues ,not to mudsling .

ClaireK, why would you say that Mccall was guilty by association. I have not seen her in any way involved in any PAC or any of their members since she announced she would run. Do you know for sure she is being influenced by this PAC? By the way alot of people know and talk to Roger Campbell and a great deal of them do not agree with him so talking to him is not an association necessarily. If it were how about Doug Tucker I see him over at Roger's from time to time.

Being a political illiterate is not necessarily bad because you have an open mind to hear all sides. Fillmore does not need any POLITICIANS just people who will work and care for Fillmore.

Hello Candidates:
I would like to know how Gayle Washburn and Patti Walker feel about a nightlife concept in Fillmore? For instance, an atmosphere consisting of upscale restaurants/bars and nightclubs similar to what you see in downtown Ventura and Santa Barbara. Do you feel that this type of atmosphere would be a positive or negative influence in Fillmore not only in the eyes of locals but in terms of attracting a tourist market? Why or why not?

Votegop: I'm not sure why the debate was cancelled. Patti talked to Ms. Kelley and might have a specific answer.

I think now we are down to one more debate. The North Fillmore Neighborhood Council is having one at the Lemon Way storefront in North Fillmore on the 25th at 7:00 pm.

flyonthewall: As always, if there are questions on the issues we are happy to answer them here. I think I will create a new topic just for questions.

anonymous and clairek: Yes, please no name calling. There is a new post up of an article about Patti and the Friend of Fillmore. Check it out

When you associate with people that are heavily known members of the Friends of Fillmore Pac its kind of suspicious, dont you think? McCall's lingo is wishy-washy to say the least( Waffler). Shall we go in the NFSP ? First she is for 700 plus homes now she is for 480, i guess it depends which neighborhood she targets. Trick or Treat!

Votegop & Clairek:

I can say that I and Gayle were sure disappointed in not being able to have the League forum. We were looking forward to an "all candidates" forum and thought this would be the one.

In my talks with Ms. Kelley at the League she said she took too long to contact the candidates to fill them in on the date and time.

There is another forum at the North Fillmore Storefront hosted by the North Fillmore Community Council. It will be on Oct 25 but Ken will not be there as it is his "Campaign Get-together."

Flyonthewall:

I hope you'll come to participate in order to get your questions answered. Of course, you can always reach me at 524-2731 and I'd be happy to address any concerns you may have.
